We leave lovely Cuenca in the morning, drive to Madrid, hand off the black Picasso to Sixt and fly home to CPH.
The End …for this time.

The last full day of a wonderful 2 weeks tour around central and north of Spain. A fairly rainy day but it’s also November so what would you expect. Fantastic place also this time, my last visit was in 1984. Our apartment hotel, Alizaque, lies quite a bit up beyond the old town. Views are impressive.
Around noon we reach the Cathedral and Plaza Mayor. A splendid exhibition is shown in the cathedral, La Poética de la Libertad.
After this, why not another exhbition? Museo de Arte Abstracto Español: Los Primero 50 Años.
Well, the last four abstracts are not hanging in the museum…
We have an late lunch/early dinner in the newer parts of Cuenca, far down the valley. Lucky enough there’s a bus to take us up again to the apartment.

The days starts with a stroll around the church ‘Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Mirón’ which lies beside the hotel. Then a slow walk by the river Duero (Paraje Natural Soto Playa). Autumn colors surrounds us and it’s all very lovely.
We drive towards Sigüenza. Mostly on the highway. Siguënza is marvellous and we get a good late lunch overlooking the cathedral which we also get to enjoy, including an interesting exhibition commemorating Cervantes and Shakespeare 1616 – 2016, aTempora.
After Siguënza we drive on to our last destination of this vacation – Cuenca. End of the day clouds and some light rain emerged. Who cares…
