As a starter a visit to an excellent, sunday open, pharmacy (yes, one of us suffered prevailing issues wih the stomach). Then a muted and lovely walk along the beachside of Santander before we drive on to Bilbao. Bilbao!!

We expect a fantastic day. The crisp autumn weather is at its best, and the prospect to drive over the mountains and then descent towards the Atlantic is an exciting one.
It is confirmed. We have a fantastic drive over the Cantabrian Mountains/Picos de Europa. We stop at Riaño (Coffee but couldn’t get anything to eat) and Potes (a late lunch, at last) along the N-621.
We came to Santander and so did the fog. Again I had a lovely evening walk in a fine and naturally wonderful, large city.
